We have educators who have obtained their Child Development Associate certification. Many of them have also completed college courses for Early Childhood Development. They are all certified in CPR and First Aid. They all meet the training requirements yearly as well.
The InvestiGator Club builds upon children's natural curiosity about the world and their place in it. "Purposeful inquiry" awakens the scientist and explorer in every child. Children learn to use their senses, ask questions, and find answers in a supportive, print-rich environment.
Children learn by what we teach them.
Children learn by doing.
Children learn from each other.
Children's learning begins at home.
The mission of Merrimac Learning Center is to provide safe, affordable, high quality and developmentally appropriate child care. In doing so, we support families in their efforts to reach their goal. Our focus is to provide a stimulating early child care education experience which promotes each child’s social/ emotional, physical, language and cognitive skills.
We believe large group activities can teach children to cooperate, share, empathize, and work together. They also learn to communicate and listen to different perspectives.
Outdoor play and exploring is good for children's development and well being. It pushes them to explore and investigate the environment around them and IT IS FUN TOO!
Cognitive development is a critical part of a child's growth and includes skills like problem solving, thinking, learning, exploring, and investigating! Those skills help children understand relationships between ideas, cause and effect, and be able to analyze things.
Physical health is important because it helps children build strong bones and muscles, improves their coordination, helps reduce the risk of developing health conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. It also reduces stress and helps children regulate their emotions.
Reading introduces children to a variety of words and helps them build their vocabulary and language skills. It also improves their cognitive skills, critical thinking skills, and memory. Reading and storytelling can help babies' brains develop, even before they can talk. When children read to others , they connect words to pictures and things in their world, which creates brain connections.
We are partnered with FP Assistance and we take training courses to provide the proper nutrition and nutritional needs every child needs. We offer breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
