Welcome to Merrimac Learning Center's web page!

Merrimac Learning Center has been offering educational Child Care since 1972. The mission at Merrimac has always and will always be to provide safe, affordable, high quality and developmentally appropriate child care. In doing so, we support families in their efforts to reach their own personal goals they have set forth. Our focus is to provide a stimulating early care and education experience which promotes each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development for children ages 6 weeks- 4 years of age. We provide a home like environment where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace. Merrimac Learning Center's Staff are committed to the families we serve while also providing support and encouragement.

Our goals are:

   1. To care for children in an emotionally secure environment and in a physically secure environment ensuring their developmental needs are met.

   2. To encourage parent involvement in their child's development and education.

   3. For all the staff members to work in a professional manner that provides an appropriate program and responds to and respects each child's development, education and care practices.

   4. For parents/guardians and members of staff to be aware that the program we provide reflects Merrimac Learning Center's philosophy and goals.

Our objectives are:

   1. For each child to be seen as a unique individual with a right to self expression and a safe and secure environment.

   2. To encourage children to take an active role in their development and learning.

   3. To realize the potential of the child as a whole.

   4. To emphasize the important part that parents play in their child's development and education.

   5. To provide a program that emphasizes that all children have an equal opportunity to access equipment and activities, regardless of gender, ethnic background, disability and/or other personal/physical/social characteristics.

   6. For the children to have a stimulating program experience that responds to their needs and instincts.
